Description

Requirements:

1 year experience in human exercise physiology research and specific knowledge in cardiopulmonary exercise testing

PhD in Medicine or Respiratory Physiology

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to conducting human exercise physiology research including cardiopulmonary exercise testing in consultation with the principal investigator (required)

• Knowledge of exercise physiology (required)

• Skills in human exercise testing (required)

• Ability to evaluate methods and techniques used, and results obtained by other researchers, and to relate such evaluations appropriately to your own work (required)

• Knowledge of assessment of pulmonary mechanics and pulmonary function (desirable)

• Knowledge of neuromuscular fatigue assessments (desirable)

• Skilled in interacting with patients and research study participants and taking medical history

• Skilled in communicating and presenting research results through publication and other recognised forms of output

• Understand the broader issues relating to the conduct and management of research

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for recruiting, enrolling and collecting human exercise physiology research data, including consent, collection and analysis of human physiology data, data entry and assistance in production of reports

• Maintain appropriate experimental records and documents

• Assist in production of original data reports (abstracts, papers, presentations)
