Part-time Position: Less than 30 hours per week
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Master's Degree: Life Sciences
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a comparable research or academic support role
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
· Must have a solid understanding of basic biological concepts and biomedical terminology, such as cell structure and processes, biochemistry, microbiology, basic genetics and molecular biology, etc.
· Must have exceptional and versatile writing skills – ability to write for grant proposals, publications and blogs
· Must be exceptionally well organized and possess the ability to simplify and organize complex information
· Knowledge of social media platforms; ability to produce and edit content for social media
· Knowledge of NIH grant types and application process
· Effective interpersonal skills – ability to interact with variety of personality styles and diverse backgrounds
· Self-starter. Able to work with minimal direction and supervision, act independently as well as collaboratively
· Ability to work proactively and take initiative to address issues and solve problems
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
· Demonstrated cooperative behavior and positive-problem solving and conflict resolution skills
· Dependable, ability to work flexible hours and overtime as may be required
· Ability to work as a member of a team
· Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner
Description of Duties:
· Collaborates with Investigator to assist in writing, developing and submitting research grant proposals.
· Assists Investigator in research proposal development, including the collection of data, editing and proofreading.
· Develops standard sections, templates and online resources that support the research proposal development and submission process.
· Develops, organizes and may lead internal workshops for investigators to develop and improve grant proposal development skills and overall submission success.
· Manage specialized research/education/science-related projects, as needed, determining the project work plan, resource requirements and timeline __
· Other duties as may be assigned.
Salary Range: $75 per hour
