Job Description

Molecular Biology of Fungal Pathogenesis

Laboratory of Priya Uppuluri, Ph.D.

My lab is seeking a highly driven research associate technician to participate in NIH-funded research projects aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying fungal biofilm growth and dispersal.

Applicants should have a BS or MS in microbiology, molecular biology or biochemistry. Experience in molecular mycology is preferred, and applicants well versed in technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9 and protein biochemistry (phosphoproteomics, protein-protein interactions, recombinant protein expression) etc., are strongly encouraged to apply. The research projects focus on identifying signaling pathways governing biofilm growth and dispersal in Candida albicans, and will utilize medicinal chemistry approaches to discover novel inhibitors of the biofilm growth process.

Successful candidate will be a part of a bustling research environment that is active in areas of molecular biology, fungal immunology and pathogenesis of fungal/bacterial organisms and drug development. You will work with world leaders in the field of medical mycology.

The Uppuluri laboratory is located at The Lundquist Institute, Harbor-UCLA in Torrance, California, and is affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. To apply, please send a CV, cover letter, and contact information for three references by e-mail to:
