Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree- Biology or closely related field
  • At least 6 months of previous research laboratory experience is desired
  • Understanding of standard research laboratory practices          
  • Technical proficiency and accuracy   
  • Individual initiative, ability to work independently, self-motivation       
  • Analytical and deductive abilities        
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task   
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills     
  • Good record-keeping and attention to detail

Description of Duties

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to carry out laboratory research projects in the area of Cancer Biology        
  • Perform cell, molecular and biochemistry techniques including tissue culture, molecular cloning, RNA isolation and PCR, western blotting and microscopy         
  • Obtain, analyze and carefully record experimental data   
  • Write reports and present experimental results for publication 
  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory, centralized files and records    
  • Operate and maintain standard equipment   
  • Prepare solutions, reagents and media
