Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • PhD in Child & Developmental Psychology
  • Certified to administer neuropsychological testing batteries appropriate for autism
  • ADHD, and other learning or developmental disorders
  • Able to conduct cognitive behavioral counseling sessions

Description of Duties

  • Provide neuropsychiatric testing/evaluations or counseling 3 mornings a week for patients referred due to concerns related to autism, ADHD, and other learning or developmental disorders
  • Be a liaison in continuity clinic, 3 afternoons a week, to help identify patients who would benefit from further in depth developmental or social questioning and refer to morning sessions for further testing/assessment/counseling.
  • For both responsibilities, person would be directly supervising/teaching the pediatric resident on the Development/Behavior rotation (under the general supervision of Dr. Geeta Grover) during these sessions, and/or child psychiatry fellows.
  • Perform neuropsychological testing for pediatric patients for the diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or other learning disabilities    
  • Provide direct counseling to parents and children, incorporating standard counseling methods including cognitive behavior therapy       
  • Provide parenting education one on one with parents and in a classroom/group format
  • Provide direct supervision for teaching pediatric residents
  • Function as a consultant in a pediatric clinic to assist in identifying patients/families that could use behavior resources/services
