Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Biology/Biochemistry/Genetics or Life Science related
  • 1-3 years of molecular biology lab is preferred but not required
  • Organoids culture experience is preferred but not required
  • DNA/RNA isolation and analysis; Plasmids cloing, site-directed mutagenesis and transfection
  • RNAi and CRISPR manipulation           
  • Western Blot and immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation        
  • Cell culture for the cell lines; Orgnoids culture experience is preferred;        
  • Flow Cytometry, cell sorting and GFP report assay           
  • Lentivirus and Retrovirus manipulation         
  • Self-motivated

Description of Duties

  • Supervise sleep study participants and ensure all protocol time points are followed
  • Characterize novel proteins involved in DNA damage      
  • Perform standard molecular biology techniques    
  • Perform tissue culture work and plasmid transfection, retroviral/lentiviral transduction
  • Characterize the DNA damage response in the ex vivo organoids        
  • Analysis of transdifferentiation upon different DNA damage exposure           
  • Mouse colony maintenance       
  • Assist CRISPR screen and quantitative proteomic analysis        
  • Assist the PI for the regular Lab maintenance
